Let’s start with an introduction, some may know me as Nova Shrimp from Facebook, you can also call me Ben. Basically, I’m just a shrimp hobbyist that ventured into the underwater realm of ornamental shrimps after diving in with guppies & endlers. Fell in love after a few blue dreams and crystals became berried & the rest is as they say, history. My favourite colours are blue and red.

In recent years the shrimp hobby has exploded in popularity, especially in Australia and information from influencers on YT, forums all of which being abundant you’d think it’ll be easy to understand but on the contrary it’s much harder as it’s now become an information dump that can be difficult to decipher, some of which are driven by various incentives. 

My mission is to provide a comprehensive blog that encompasses all the fundamentals that is shrimp keeping/ breeding for beginners. So, reducing the barrier to entry by making the learning curve less steep, in theory aiding the growth of the Australian shrimp community further.
